GLR Files Amicus Brief in Georgia CVS Pharmacy, LLC v. James Carmichael
Georgians for Lawsuit Reform (“GLR”) has filed an amicus curiae brief with the Georgia Supreme Court in Georgia CVS Pharmacy, LLC v. James Carmichael. Writing in support of the Defendant-Appellant, GLR argues that the jury verdict apportioning 0% fault to Mr. Carmichael’s shooter and 95% fault to CVS is void because the verdict undermines Georgia’s apportionment statute.
GLR routinely submits amicus briefs to provide courts with the business perspective on important legal and policy issues. A fair, balanced, and efficient legal system is imperative to ensure that Georgia remains the number one state to do business. If you have any questions regarding this submission, GLR’s amicus policy, or how to join our advocacy efforts, please contact GLR’s Executive Director, Meagan Hanson, Esq. at [email protected].
